Document Prep Checklist

1. Before Your Appointment

  • Make sure you have the correct document (will, power of attorney, healthcare directive, etc.).

  • Fill in all blanks you understand, but do not sign anything yet.

  • Confirm that everyone who needs to sign will be present at the appointment.

2. Identification

  • Each signer must have a valid, government‑issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport, or military ID).

  • Make sure IDs are not expired and the names match the documents as closely as possible.

3. Witnesses

  • Bring at least one witness who meets your document’s requirements (for example, over 18 and not a party to the document).

  • Make sure your witness also brings a valid photo ID.

  • Confirm your witness can stay for the full signing.

4. At the Signing Location

  • Have a quiet place ready with a table or flat surface for signing.

  • Keep all pages of your documents together and in order.

  • Have any extra forms or instructions from your attorney or advisor available.

5. Payment & Travel Details

  • Review my current pricing and travel fees on the Pricing page.

  • Be prepared to pay at the time of service using an accepted payment method.

Visit & Signing Guide

1. Before I Arrive

  • Have your documents filled out, but not signed.

  • Make sure all signers and your witness can be present.

  • Have valid photo IDs ready for each signer and your witness.

2. When I Arrive

  • We review the documents together.

  • I confirm everyone’s identity and willingness to sign.

  • I answer any questions about the notarization process (but not legal advice).

3. During the Signing

  • You and your witness sign where indicated.

  • I complete the notarial certificate and apply my stamp.

4. After the Appointment

  • You keep the original documents.

  • I record the notarization in my notary journal as required by law.

Policies & Boundaries

  • I am not an attorney and cannot give legal advice or tell you which documents you need.

  • I may refuse to notarize if a signer does not have valid ID, does not appear willing, or does not seem aware of what they are signing.

  • All documents must be complete (but not signed) before I arrive. I do not draft or fill out forms for clients.

  • Payment is due at the time of service, including any travel fees listed on the Pricing page.
